Parampara ·

Four saints. One unbroken lamp.

For more than a hundred and sixty years, sadhus of Anandvan Sansthan have kept the lamp of Bhagwat tradition burning at Songir. This is their lineage — and the river of grace that still flows through it today.

Shri Guru Govind Maharaj

First Acharya · c. 1860 — 1923

A wandering ascetic who came to the foot of Songir hill, established a small dhuni, and began daily readings of the Bhagwat for the villagers who gathered. From this single fire, Anandvan Sansthan was born.

"भागवत हे ग्रंथ नाही — ते भगवंताचे हृदय आहे."
— Bhagwat is not a text, it is the heart of Bhagwan himself.

Shri Sadguru Keshavdutt Maharaj

Second Acharya · 1924 — 1971

Formally consecrated the Sansthan in 1924 with the laying of the central temple stone. Built the first stone matha, the Vedshala, and began annual Saptahas during chaturmas. Disciples remember him for an austerity so quiet it changed the temperature of the room.

"मौनातून जे शिकवता येते, ते शब्दांनी कधीच जमत नाही."
— What can be taught in silence, words can never accomplish.

Shri Sadguru Madhusudhan Maharaj

Third Acharya · 1972 — 2008

Took the katha out of the matha and into the public square. Held large public Bhagwat Saptahas across Maharashtra and Gujarat, established the Dnyaneshwari Adhyayan Mandal, and inspired a generation of devotees who are still teaching today.

"ज्ञानेश्वरी ही मराठी मनाची मातृभाषा आहे."
— The Dnyaneshwari is the mother-tongue of the Marathi soul.

Shri Dr. Mukundraj Maharaj

Present Acharya · 2008 —

Disciple and dharmic successor of Acharya III. Founded the Mukundraj Foundation as the active wing of the Sansthan — bringing the Bhagwat into city auditoriums, college campuses, livestreams and short-form video. A scholar of both Sanskrit and modern philosophy, he has delivered over 200 public Saptahas across India.

"पुरातन सत्य आणि आधुनिक काळ — हे विरुद्ध नाहीत. ते एकाच दीपाच्या दोन ज्योती आहेत."
— Ancient truth and modern times are not opposites. They are two flames of one lamp.
